Metroland Media is seeking a temporary reporter to join their team for a 6-month contract position. The successful candidate will generate fresh and interesting local news and feature stories, provide comprehensive coverage of municipal government and regional school boards, and adapt to a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in journalism or a related field
• Proven news judgment and strong work ethic
• Competent in social media outlets and online posting skills
• Effective organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
• Well-versed in Canadian libel law and Canadian Press style
