Join the Town of Milton as a Communicator Technician and be the first point of contact for citizens reporting emergencies to Milton Fire and Rescue Services. As a Communicator Technician, you will receive incoming calls, provide prompt and accurate dispatching of apparatus, and support Incident Command with real-time updates.
Requirements
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience using communication and dispatch devices, computers, software applications, telephone and radio equipment
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
- General understanding of fire, rescue, and emergency services
- Strong keyboarding skills (45 WPM, 90% proficiency)
- Ability to multiātask while demonstrating sound judgment and timely decisionāmaking in fastāpaced, challenging environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy, tact, and a high degree of confidentiality
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment
