Communicator Technician (Part-time)

Join the Town of Milton as a Communicator Technician and be the first point of contact for citizens reporting emergencies to Milton Fire and Rescue Services. As a Communicator Technician, you will receive incoming calls, provide prompt and accurate dispatching of apparatus, and support Incident Command with real-time updates.

Requirements

• Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated experience using communication and dispatch devices, computers, software applications, telephone and radio equipment
• Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
• General understanding of fire, rescue, and emergency services
• Strong keyboarding skills (45 WPM, 90% proficiency)
• Ability to multi‐task while demonstrating sound judgment and timely decision‐making in fast‐paced, challenging environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy, tact, and a high degree of confidentiality
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment
