Firefighter Engineer participates in fire suppression and emergency response operations, including driving apparatus, responding to emergency medical calls, and participating in firefighting and training activities.
Requirements
- Must be able to physically perform basic life functions
- Must be able to perform heavy work exerting up to 100 pounds of force
- Considerable knowledge of modern methods of attacking fire emergencies
- Considerable knowledge of medical response protocols and procedures as an EMT
- Graduation from high school and completion of courses in fire suppression and emergency medical service
- Possession of a valid class B North Carolina driver's license
- Certification as NC Firefighter II
- Certification as an EMT
