The Bilingual Center Aid is responsible for interpreting for Spanish speaking families and children receiving services through the Head Start program and will be working in the homes and classrooms with teachers, children and families.
Requirements
- Assist the Lead Teacher in the planning and coordinating the classroom.
- Establish an environment which will stimulate a desire for learning, independence and self-esteem for parents and children.
- Provide personal assistance (telephone callers) to Spanish-speaking children and families, as requested.
- Provide daily communication to parents on children’s day to day activities or needs.
- Work one on one with each child and their individual goals, emergent readers and translations.
- Document observations on progress.
- Maintain confidentiality in regards to staff and family information.
- Embrace, advocate and carry out the mission and vision of the agency.
- Abide by all agency policies, procedures and Community Action Code of Ethics.
- Follow State Licensing requirements.
- Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid.
