The Hospice Dietary Counselor provides expert nutritional assessment, consultation, education, and dietary counseling to hospice patients. The role supports optimal patient comfort, symptom management, and quality of life at the end of life.
Requirements
- Licensed as a Registered Dietitian (RDN) or Certified Nutritionist (CN) in the State of Washington
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting; hospice or palliative care experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree with completion of the academic requirements of a program in nutrition or dietetics
- Strong understanding of nutrition care process, medical nutrition therapy, and regulatory standards
- Ability to provide compassionate care and counseling for patients and families
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Organizational skills for independent work with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with nutrient analysis and menu planning
- Available to work one (1) shift per quarter and as needed
- Per Diem Minimum Requirements
- Available to work two (2) shifts per month
- Available to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Available to work two (2) holidays per twelve (12) month period
