Mechanical Designer

Smith Steel & Fabrication is a leading manufacturer of specialized steel tanks, looking for a Mechanical Designer to join their team. The role involves designing various mechanical devices, working closely with project managers and shop personnel to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Design a variety of tanks, structures, and industrial bulk products
• Correspond with Project Manager(s) to ensure design is reflective of the scope of work
• Involvement in all stages of the design process from concept to approval drawings
• Own the research, design, and test of product or product subsystem development utilizing CAD and analysis tools
• Complete Solidworks 3D modeling and provide 2D drawing packages
• Create bills of materials in the ERP system for procurement
• Work with purchasing to source materials from capable vendors for the purpose of engineering prototypes
• Assist with the assembly of product information for technical writers to create manuals
• Work with sales to create concepts and project scopes
