The Logistics Manager oversees all inbound and outbound logistics operations, ensuring materials, components, and finished products move efficiently through the supply chain.
Requirements
- Manage daily shipping and receiving operations, including freight scheduling, carrier coordination, and load planning.
- Negotiate rates and service agreements with carriers and logistics partners.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Monitor freight costs and implement cost-saving strategies without compromising service quality.
- Oversee warehouse layout, material flow, and inventory accuracy.
- Implement and maintain cycle counting, inventory controls, and stocking strategies.
- Collaborate with production and procurement to ensure materials availability aligns with production schedules.
- Drive continuous improvement in warehouse efficiency, safety, and organization.
- Develop and refine logistics processes, SOPs, and KPIs to improve reliability and throughput.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to track inventory, shipments, and production needs.
- Analyze data to identify bottlenecks, forecast needs, and support strategic planning.
- Lead, train, and mentor warehouse and logistics staff.
- Partner with operations, sales, procurement, and customer service to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for logistics escalations and problem resolution.
- Lead and sustain 5S warehouse management standards, including ongoing maintenance, audits, and implementation of corrective 5S activities as operational needs arise.
