Senior/Staff Backend Engineer, Applied AI

Hypha is an AI-native platform transforming asset management. As a Senior/Staff Backend Engineer, Applied AI, you will own the architecture and evolution of the AI systems at the core of the platform. You will lead the design of multi-step AI workflows and build the backend infrastructure, evaluation systems, and observability layers required to operate these systems reliably in production.

Requirements

• 7+ years of backend or full-stack software engineering experience
• Strong backend fundamentals, including Node.js/TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and building reliable server-side systems in production
• Applied AI experience, including building products with LLMs
• Systems thinking, including reasoning about how components interact at scale
• Technical leadership, including architecture decisions, design reviews, and mentorship of other engineers
• Pragmatic engineering, including shipping working systems and knowing when to optimize
