The Medical Assistant supports physicians and other professional healthcare providers in the ambulatory care setting by delivering both direct and indirect patient care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a one-year medical assistant program or an accredited two-year medical assisting program
- Previous experience or training in general medical office skills and procedures
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant through AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA is preferred at hire and required within 90 days
- CPR certification required within 60 days of hire
- One to three years of experience in a medical or physician office
- Basic business office, clinical, and computer skills
