Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant supports physicians and other professional healthcare providers in the ambulatory care setting by delivering both direct and indirect patient care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a one-year medical assistant program or an accredited two-year medical assisting program
• Previous experience or training in general medical office skills and procedures
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Certification or registration as a Medical Assistant through AAMA, AMT, NCCT, or NHA is preferred at hire and required within 90 days
• CPR certification required within 60 days of hire
• One to three years of experience in a medical or physician office
• Basic business office, clinical, and computer skills
