Highway Operator I

Operates various types of power construction equipment, performs preventative maintenance, and may occasionally operate or train on equipment assigned to a higher or lower classification. Must have education equivalent to graduation from a standard four year high school and over three years in heavy equipment operation.

Requirements

• Valid Oklahoma Drivers License
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to speak effectively to supervisors or employees of organization
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
