Director, Supply Chain, Japan

Ultragenyx is a biopharmaceutical company that aims to care for patients with rare diseases. The Director, Supply Chain, Japan will be responsible for building and implementing the regional supply planning and distribution strategy in Japan. The role will require close liaison with various global and regional functions, including Sales & Commercial, Packaging, and Quality. The ideal candidate will have experience in supply chain management, pharmaceutical and regulatory experience, quality acumen, and financial acumen. The role will involve travel throughout Japan and internationally.

Requirements

• Fluency in both Japanese and English
• Bachelor's degree or local equivalent in a related field (Supply Chain, Business, Engineering)
• 8 or more years of experience in Supply Chain / Technical Operations in the pharmaceutical or biotech industries
• Strong preference for project management and pharmaceutical launch experience as well as a certificate in Lean / Six-sigma training
• Understanding of pharmaceutical industry procedures and regulations
• Quality acumen and experience operating in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology quality system
• Financial acumen and compliance with regional and global commercial implications
• Hands on experience with the implementation and / or operation of a scalable enterprise resource system (ERP)
