
Job description
The Project and Senior Sustainable Finance Specialist will oversee the implementation of the GEF8-BFP Umbrella program at the national level in Eswatini. They will be responsible for supervising a national team, ensuring a proper workplan and budget are in place, and implementing activities within set timelines. The Specialist will work closely with the technical team to establish implementation mechanisms and technical working groups, and ensure all planned workshops, technical studies, and other activities are organized in a timely manner.
The Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the identification, selection, and supervision of national consultants and experts, writing/revising terms of references, and elaborating/revising the work plan and budget. They will also supervise the work of national experts and institutions, organize project workshops, and maintain regular communication with Ministries of Environment and Finance.
The ideal candidate will have senior experience in finance and sustainability, with a strong understanding of biodiversity finance tools and solutions. They will be able to provide technical leadership on finance issues, assure horizontal integration and consistency of workstreams/studies, and provide overall guidance and quality control for project deliverables.
