Job Description
The Shop Technician will be responsible for performing various tasks in the shop area, including preparing repair orders, completing records, and complying with company and regulatory requirements. They will also be required to communicate with the Maintenance Supervisor and demonstrate professional demeanor, good interpersonal skills, and dependability.
Requirements
- High School Education or equivalent
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
- Self-starter with detail oriented work habits
- Meet qualification requirement as stipulated in Section 396.19 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as required to perform vehicle inspections
- Meet qualification requirements as stipulated in Section 396.25 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as required to perform brake maintenance/repairs
- Ability to safely operate tractor/trailer unit within terminal premises
- Technical knowledge as required to insure proper treatment of various required components
- Display professional demeanor
- Good interpersonal skills; able to work well with wide range of individuals
- Demonstrate dependability through good attendance and adherence to timelines and schedules
- Basic mechanics skills
- Through knowledge of DOT regulations, federal, state, local and company regulations and standards
- Knowledge of basic company employment policies and procedures
