The Brokerage Logistics Coordinator I is responsible for selecting profitable and efficient means of transportation for customers, negotiating rates, and scheduling delivery vehicles. The role requires daily planning, decision-making, and communication with customers and carriers. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and 3+ years of logistics experience or equivalent.
Requirements
- Independently manage the profitability and service of assigned lanes through daily planning and decision making
- Individually responsible for the profitability of $400k to $1 million in revenue per month
- Direct communication with customers to solve problems and plan effective freight
- Effectively select means to plan profitable and efficient single stop and multi stop temperature-controlled trucks
- Price and procure carriers for brokerage department
- Drive sales and growth in the brokerage department
- Independently plan, organize, and control activities related to transportation with little to no interaction from management
- Answer requests for proposals and orders from customers
- Onboarding new carriers through carrier management system
- Utilizing load boards to procure carriers
- Knowledge of refrigerated carrier market pricing and where to seek it
- Ability to interact professionally with customers and carriers daily
- Receive and confirm orders for transportation
- Organize transportation in the best conditions, in respect to the quality and the company's timekeeping standards
- Find optimal solutions for transport and communicate solutions to customers
- Establish relationships with clients in pursuit of sustainable business relationships
- Negotiate spot rates with outside carriers to decide effective and profitable means of transportation
- Responsible for the tracking and tracing of shipments with contracted carriers.
- Coordinate with warehouse schedulers to ensure timely shipping
- Respect the law on road traffic public, domestic and international traffic of goods
- Direct carriers for loading and unloading of consignments, goods and means of transport
- Effectively communicate load details with outside carriers
