Job Description
The Hospital Assistant / Porter is responsible for transporting patients, assisting with patient transfers, and performing various duties related to patient care and departmental operations. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and 3-6 months of practical experience or on-the-job training. The successful candidate will work on a contract basis for 3 months, until mid-August 2026, with a salary range of $27.30-$27.60 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent
- 3-6 months of practical and related experience or on-the-job training
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations
- Ability to meet physical demands of the job
- Knowledge of W.H.M.I.S. and Occupational Health & Safety Act
- Effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Client service orientation and ability to work with diversity
