Job Description
The University of Alabama at Birmingham Police and Public Safety Department seeks Dispatcher Police personnel. The UAB Police Department is proud to be recognized with Meritorious Advanced Law Enforcement Accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
Requirements
- Sends and receives radio transmission from sworn and non-sworn field units and surrounding agencies.
- Answers the telephone and determines the form of assistance required.
- Performs multi-tasking priorities.
- Maintains knowledge of all required department policies and procedures.
- Operates the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center/National Crime Information Center (ACJIC/NCIC) terminal and become certified on the same.
- Operates equipment in the Communications Center.
- Rotates on all shifts and all days of the week, at the discretion of the Communications Supervisor.
