Post Doctoral Scholar

As a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of Central Florida, you will work with a collaborative research team on a DOE-funded project to design and test high-temperature thermochemical reactors for solar and renewable energy conversion and storage. You will co-lead the team, mentor students, and publish high-impact research papers.

Requirements

• PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, or a closely aligned field
• Experience in studying fluid-solid interactions, reactive material reduction/oxidation kinetics, and high-temperature radiation transfer
• Experience in designing and operating thermal/fluid systems using high-temperature furnaces
• Experience with material characterization such as XRD, SEM, micro-CT scan etc.
• Expertise in experimental design and testing of high-temperature materials and energy systems
• Ability to work with external collaborators and possess good oral and written communication skills
