Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Green Artificial Intelligence

Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Green Artificial Intelligence is seeking a world-class research chair to lead an ambitious research program in Green AI, addressing energy-efficient, sustainable AI, and environmental challenges. The position will focus on developing AI models for sustainability and contributing to UoG’s research priorities. The University of Guelph is committed to supporting the program through infrastructure and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related discipline
• Experience as a full professor or associate professor (expected to advance)
• Exceptional research contribution record (publications, mentorship, funding)
• Leadership experience in interdisciplinary teams
• Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility (EDIA)
• Alignment with principles of Indigenous self-determination (with permission from the University).
