Standardized Patient

Standardized Patients are trained to act as though they have specific illnesses and participate in video recorded student training sessions. They learn the history, body language, physical findings, as well as emotional and personality characteristics that tend to go along with the illness.

Requirements

• Daily access to email
• Keep track of all assigned case dates
• Participate in all trainings assigned
• Study all facts of the assigned case script
• Dress appropriately for each case
• Consistently perform the case
• Keep all cases and encounters with students/residents confidential
• Log hours worked in Workday
• Call (as soon as possible) if unable to attend a scheduled session
• Arrive at scheduled time
