The Post Doctoral Associate performs scientific research and studies under the supervision of managing staff, promotes institutional recognition through literal contributions to the scientific community, and supports the department’s sponsored research, testing, and technology-development activities.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree in relevant field required
- No previous experience required
- Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands
- Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment
- Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications
- Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute laboratory and/or field experiments, analyze data, and maintain accurate research records
- Strong scientific writing skills, including preparation of manuscripts, technical reports, presentations, and grant-support materials
- Strong communication skills, including in interdisciplinary teams
- Ability to work effectively with faculty, students, staff, and external collaborators in a team-based research environment
- Proficiency with standard research software, data analysis tools, Microsoft Office applications, and laboratory instrumentation relevant to the department
