APTPUO - Winter 2027 - CML2184 / 3187 C00 - Access to Justice Practicum (Level I + Level II) - Prison Law Clinic

This course provides upper-year students with hands-on work in prison law in support of the Jail Accountability and Information Line, a phone line operated by community volunteers. Students will receive training on how to take phone calls and support the JAIL LINE's work by researching complex legal issues faced by prisoners. The course blends substantive learning in prison law with practical experience providing legal information to the Ottawa community.

Requirements

• Active membership in good standing in the Law Society of Ontario
• Lawpro insurance
• LL.B., J.D., or equivalent
• Significant practical experience related to prison law
• Prior teaching experience (asset)
