The University of Ottawa Library is looking for an innovative, motivated and service-oriented individual to fill the position of Head, Research Support (Scholarly Communication and Data) (Replacement). Requirements
- A Master's degree in Library and Information Sciences (MLIS) from an institution that has been accredited by the American Library Association or equivalent.
- Effective oral and written communication skills in both French and English.
- Experience in human resources management and administration.
- University degree or related experience in one or more of the following areas of expertise: Data-intensive research support, scholarly communication or digital scholarship.
- Knowledge of scholarly information and research methods relating to at least one of the department’s areas of expertise.
- Experience in providing user-centered research and teaching support to at least one of the department’s areas of expertise.
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly collaborative, flexible and collegial, with the ability to work in a team environment.
- Experience planning and implementing innovative projects and services that respond to user needs.
- Ability to engage, empower, and motivate, with a demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective change management strategies.
