Laboratory Assistant – Arcadia Clinical Lab - Per Diem 8 Hour Days (Non-Exempt) (Non-Union)

The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for procuring blood samples from patients, preserving the integrity of specimens, and proper transporting, processing and preparation of all samples. They also provide clerical functions such as answering telephone inquiries and disseminating laboratory reports.

Requirements

• Obtains blood sample specimens by venipuncture or capillary methods
• Receives and screens specimens with regard to acceptability
• Delivers blood products to Surgery and surgical specimens to the Laboratory
• Handles inquiries for lab results and specimen status
• Communicates with patients, co-workers, and guests
• Adheres to established Hospital and Departmental policies and procedures
