RN Coordinator (VAD) - Mech Circulatory Program - Full Time 8 Hour Days (Non-Exempt) (Non-Union)

The RN Coordinator (VAD) provides nursing care to Ventricular Assistive Device and cardiothoracic transplant patients, acting as a central point of contact for patients and families. The position requires rounds, research protocol visits, and work with physicians and members of the transplant team.

Requirements

• Participates and develops educational programs for patients, families, nursing staff, and medical staff
• Independently facilitates the evaluation and listing process of potential transplant patients
• Maintains communication with referring physicians and insurance case managers
• Provides education regarding the transplant evaluation, listing, and organ allocation process
• Responsible for updating INTERMACS per Joint Commission protocol
• Works closely with research staff to ensure timely data input and submission to the Interagency Registry for Mechanically Assisted Circulation Support Database (INTERMACS)
