Job Description
Ursa Major is seeking a skilled and fast-learning Staff Propulsion Engineer to contribute to the design and development of propulsion systems, focusing on fluid and mechanical systems. The role involves clean sheet design, modification of existing components, mentoring a team, and driving the development of new hardware. Responsibilities include designing engines, working with machining equipment, and ensuring adherence to industry standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering
- 10+ years of relevant mechanical design experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with computer aided design and drafting
- Experience with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per ASME Y14.5
- Strong understanding of industry standards and requirements
- Desire to take ownership and help wherever needed on the team
- Ability to delegate tasks and lead large project scope
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of fluid, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Colorado law requiring base compensation information
