At USAA, we are seeking highly motivated experienced Associate General Counsels to provide dedicated legal advice on P&C insurance contracts, claims, and/or coverage. The role involves providing expert legal counsel to business unit leadership, navigating complex legal landscapes, and collaborating with internal teams to achieve strategic objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited school.
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school required.
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in one state or a territory of the USA
- 8 years of relevant experience with at least 7 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
- P&C Insurance contracts, claims, and/or coverage experience.
- Specific claims coverage expertise in Texas, California, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Arizona, Virginia, and/or Washington state.
- Specific claims coverage expertise in property claims coverage, inclusive of Homeowners, RPI, Fire, and Renters P&C contracts.
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring junior attorneys or training peers on state-specific P&C contracts, claims, and/or coverage legal issues.
- US military experience with skills related to one of the following MOS’s: Navy (JAG Corp Officer), Marines (4402, 4405, 4406,4410, 4411, 4417), Army (27A), USAF (51JX / 5J0X1)
