Surgery Scheduler (Central Scheduling)

Under general supervision, responsible for scheduling operating time of information systems operations to ensure effective utilization. Schedules surgical procedures, diagnostic therapy, and other treatments, coordinates pre-surgical medical clearance and care coordination for discharge orders.

Requirements

• Three years of professional experience
• Schedules surgical procedures, diagnostic therapy, and other treatments
• Coordinates pre-surgical medical clearance and care coordination for discharge orders
• Verifies receipt of physician orders
• Communicates with patients, providers, and associates via email, fax, and telephone
• Educates patients on pre-op and post-op instructions
• Recommends standard policies and procedures for providing routine service
• Coordinates preventive maintenance requirements with operating requirements
• Reconciles surgery reports within 24 hours to confirm authorizations match surgery performed
