Senior Software Engineer (Python/Rust) - London

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our back-end team and design, implement and maintain systems and services powering our technology platform. The role involves collaborating with quants, frontend and platform engineers to grow our award-winning tech platform, Horizon.

Requirements

• Engage with external stakeholders and clients to understand their needs and design solutions for capturing and integrating their data.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Validus’s quant, risk advisory, and global capital market desks.
• Build a strong understanding of FX and interest rate products, the related financial markets, and market data sources.
• Implement cloud-native solutions on AWS, ranging from HTTP APIs to event-driven microservices utilising gRPC.
• Design data models for elegantly capturing the business domain of complex trades across multiple asset classes.
• Build out performance-critical systems written in Rust, and contribute efficient, testable and maintainable code to our Python codebase.
