Purchasing Manager

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for sourcing strategy development and execution with a strong focus on material cost optimization. The role coordinates communication and data flow between manufacturing, supply chain and demand management, and ERP business processes.

Requirements

• Support the sourcing strategy development and execution for the Brenham, TX facility
• Responsible for the planning, procurement and farm-out of commodities necessary for production
• Implement policies and metrics to ensure that savings goals are realized
• Development and execution of purchasing inventory strategies and plans
• Responsible for the approval of all purchase requisitions for inventory items
• Collaboration with counterparts from Production Control, Sales, Operations, Engineering, Quality Assurance and Finance
• Directs expediting to ensure timely arrival of goods
• Manage non-standard inventory and ensure its efficient use
• Prepare documentation for analyzing past inventory trends and projecting future inventory requirements
• Manage the successful delivery and transportation of outbound work in progress and finished goods
• Manage the overall activities of the department's personnel
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to product deliveries
