Bioinformatics Analyst, Senior

The Senior Bioinformatics Analyst will lead bioinformatics analyses of genomic data sets, develop and implement advanced transcriptomic models, and direct research studies. This role involves extensive experience with large-scale genomic and transcriptomic data, statistical analysis, and collaboration with investigators throughout Vanderbilt University. The analyst will be responsible for leading a research study or developing complex statistical models, and collaborating with team members.

Requirements

• Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, computational biology, genetics, statistics, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience
• Experience with BioVU is a plus
• Background or experience in bioinformatics and a strong understanding of statistics is required
• Proficiency in R and Python
• Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and databases
• Familiarity with HPC and cloud computing infrastructure
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
