Mechanical Project Engineer I

Mechanical Project Engineer I needed to support the North American Distribution Team. Responsible for designing, specifying, and commissioning Material Handling Systems, Warehouse Automation, and Parcel Sortation systems.

Requirements

• Translate customer drawings and specifications into a fully functional mechanical system
• Optimize the functionality from as-sold to a working mechanical design within the budget in consultation with other disciplines
• 3D modeling of systems and subsequent clash detection management
• Perform spatial analysis of clearance envelopes, egress pathways and forklift vehicular aisles
• Perform system and component level calculations
• Engineering of project specials needed for non-standard design applications
• Engineering of non-standard mechanical interfaces
• Specify the mechanical equipment required
• Create a motor manifest with respect to electrical and controls engineering requirements
• Document all engineering decisions through design plans, complete and clear installation files, and engineering instructions
• Travel to site as needed to conduct site surveys
• Support the installation and commissioning both on site, and from the Marietta office
• Project document control using a rights based database system
