Emergency Veterinary Technician

VCA Milwaukee Emergency Center for Animals is seeking a Veterinary Technician to join the team. The position involves working in a fast-paced environment, handling emergency and critical care cases, and collaborating with veterinarians and other technical staff.

Requirements

• Triage patients and perform initial assessments
• Assist doctors with exams, treatments, and medical procedures
• Perform venipuncture, IVC placement, and other advanced vascular access techniques
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians
• Monitor hospitalized patients and identify subtle changes in their clinical status
• Provide clear and concise discharge instructions to clients
• Prepare patients for procedures and monitor anesthesia
• Operate diagnostic imaging equipment and assist in capturing radiographs and other diagnostic images
• Run diagnostics and correlate results with the clinical presentation of the patient
