The Area Const Eng lead will guide construction inspection staff and managers in ensuring district contract goals for safety, quality, schedule, and budgeting. This role involves independent oversight of contract construction activities, identifying improvement opportunities, and providing guidance on design, construction, and quality standards. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills, and focus on program management within the Department of Transportation.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, politicians, and the public.
• Manage administrative, financial, and technical functions of an engineering work unit.
• Supervise and evaluate the work of others.
