Staff Accountant

Vedder is seeking a dynamic and ambitious Staff Accountant to join their team in Chicago, collaborating closely with senior management to assess and drive the adoption of optimal practices in daily operations. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in leading crucial tasks such as reviewing and preparing monthly financial statements, conducting reconciliations and analyses of general ledger accounts, and preparing tax returns. Your job duties will include but not be limited to: preparing documentation for external tax advisors, reviewing externally prepared tax returns, conducting research and analysis of tax filings, assisting in annual conversion of modified cash basis accounting to accrual accounting, coordinating with various departments to gather audit support, facilitating the preparation and review of financial statements, and generating and presenting financial reports to management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting
• MBA or other advanced degree in finance or accounting encouraged
• CPA highly encouraged
• Experience with 3E and Elite Accounting Systems, and business analytic tools strongly preferred
• Excellent Microsoft Office software skills
