Mechanical Engineer (Spector)

Veeco is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Plainview, NY. The engineer will design mechanical components and subsystems for ion beam deposition, ion beam etch, and vapor deposition systems. The role requires a hands-on approach, working from concept to manufacturing release, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of experience
• Proficiency with 3D CAD platforms such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or Creo
• Hands-on experience building, assembling, and troubleshooting prototype mechanical hardware
• Experience designing capital equipment for the semiconductor industry
• Structural and thermal finite element analysis skills
• Working familiarity with ion beam technology, vacuum physics, or thin-film deposition processes
• Experience with product lifecycle management systems and formal engineering change order documentation workflows
