Senior Backend Software Engineer - Workplace Products

Verkada is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will have ownership of one or more projects, working across the full software stack to build the latest iterations of Verkada's flagship software. The role requires 4+ years of industry experience, a strong background in backend software engineering, and expertise in relational databases and languages such as Python or GoLang.

Requirements

• BS or a graduate degree in Computer Science, Maths, Engineering, or science
• 4+ years of industry backend software engineering experience
• 2+ years of professional experience as a backend engineer at a rapidly growing start up or innovative company
• Experience driving technical direction and leading teams on project execution
• Architect scalable systems and design latency sensitive applications
• Experience collaborating cross functionally to design complex systems with simple and robust backend APIs
• History of shipping out significant products
• Ownership mentality, resolving problems that span beyond team boundaries
• Deep expertise with relational databases
• Demonstrated expertise in either Python or GoLang
• Experience with Kubernetes a plus
