Staff+ Security Engineer, IT and Corporate Security

Verkada is looking for a Staff+ Security Engineer to partner with the IT team and set the requirements and priorities for IT infrastructure security. The role involves designing, implementing, and continuously improving the systems that protect employees, data, and operations. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent and 7+ years of experience as a security engineer or IT systems engineer.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree or equivalent
• 7+ years of experience as a security engineer or IT systems engineer working on security
• Understanding of security weaknesses, exploits, attacks and mitigations
• Strong understanding of identity management, endpoint security, and cloud-based SaaS environments
• Scripting ability
• Experience aligning on security risks and plans with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Outstanding written and verbal communication
• Experience in a high-growth startup environment
