Job Description
The Cutting Machine Operator prepares fabric, leather, and webbing materials for production by spreading, nesting, and cutting components used in the manufacturing process.
Requirements
- Spread and lay up fabric and other materials onto the cutting table using spreading machines or manual methods
- Calculate material layouts and measurements for work orders
- Cut fabric, leather, and webbing to supply sewing operators
- Operate spreading machines used in the cutting process
- Use manual die cutters and clicker press equipment to cut leather and webbing pieces using specific dies
- Inspect fabric before cutting and tag defects when identified
- Inspect cut parts for defects and quality issues
- Accurately complete all documentation related to work orders
- Maintain clean work areas and equipment
- Assist team members and other departments when needed
- Perform additional duties, complete special projects, and assume additional responsibilities as assigned
