Physical Therapy Assistant -PRN

Physical Therapy Assistant -PRN position at VMRC, assisting physical therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures. Requires a current Physical Therapy Assistant state license, CPR certification, and a graduate of an accredited therapy program.

Requirements

• Assists physical therapists in providing physical therapy treatments and procedures
• Works effectively to comply with policies of all VMRC areas
• Works collaboratively with team members to meet resident needs across the VMRC campus
• Effectively works with other members of the VMRC team to provide in-service’s and education to meet individual resident/patient needs
• Administers treatment programs for residents and patients
• Documents patient care services according to approved medical documentation and facility documentation procedures
• Performs therapeutic procedures by administering manual exercises and instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities
• Helps patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses
• Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance
