Staff Software Engineer

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a senior individual contributor in a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base and power Visa’s next generation of payment products.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR 8+ years with an Advanced degree OR equivalent practical experience
• Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and supporting production software systems
• Strong skills in one or more general development languages (e.g., Java, C#, C++) and modern front-end frameworks
• Experience building distributed systems and scalable services, familiarity with microservices and API design
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps practices to support rapid, reliable delivery
• GenAI exposure: experience building or integrating GenAI capabilities (LLMs/NLP, prompt engineering, AI APIs) or applying GenAI to improve engineering efficiency and automation
