The Chaplain provides pastoral care interventions, including pastoral counseling, to patients, families, caregivers, and staff. The Chaplain seeks excellence in pastoral care, requiring authentic demeanor, compassion, and skill in dealing with spiritual dynamics of illness, loss, and death.
Requirements
- Ordination or Commission to function in a ministry of pastoral care
- 5 years of pastoral experience (2 in a clinical setting)
- 1-2 units (400-800 hours) of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) accredited by one of the following: ACPE, NACC, or CAPPE
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Master's of Divinity or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited (ATS) seminary or theological school
- Commitment to professional growth and development
- Ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team
