The Chaplain provides pastoral care interventions, including pastoral counseling, to patients, families, caregivers, and staff, with a focus on spiritual needs. The role requires a member of the interdisciplinary team to seek excellence in pastoral care, with authentic demeanor, compassion, and skill in dealing with spiritual dynamics of illness, loss, and death.
Requirements
- Ordination or Commission to function in a ministry of pastoral care
- Five years of pastoral experience, with two in a clinical setting
- 1 unit (400 hours), preferably two or more, of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) accredited
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- Master's of Divinity or equivalent graduate degree from an accredited seminary or theological school
