Join VON as an NSWOC and make a meaningful impact by providing comprehensive wound assessments, ostomy care, and continence management to clients. You will work closely with an interdisciplinary team to create personalized care plans that promote healing, comfort, and improved quality of life for our clients.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the province of practice
- Completion of Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy & Continence Canada (NSWOCC) WOC-EP program, or; International Interprofessional Wound Care Course (IIWCC), or; Master's prepared Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with formal skin and wound care education
- Three years of experience in the community or acute care setting focusing on wound care is preferred
- Experience in community and home care is preferred
- Ability to observe and make effective assessments of clinical issues
- Ability to initiate and support health teaching
- Strong written and verbal communication skills that allow for effective engagement with clients, staff, and the public
