Job Description
VOR Technology is seeking a Principal Computer Scientist to provide full system and software life-cycle support for incremental software functionality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Unix/Linux operation systems, self-motivation, and a desire to work directly with customers and end-users. High quality software is valued.
Requirements
- TS/SCI clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph
- 12 years' software development experience (Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science can substitute for 2 years' experience)
- 9 years' experience with designing, coding, testing, and debugging software to run under Microsoft Windows or UNIX operating systems
- Understanding of JAVA technologies (1.4, 1.5, 1.6, and 1.7)
- OOD common patterns (Singleton, Iterator, Observer, Factory, Memento, etc.)
- Experience developing web apps and deploying WAR files
- Web presentation experience (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, CGI, Java GUI frameworks (Swing, AWT, MVC))
- JUNIT tests
- Experience with build tools (Ant, Maven), XML, Java Message Service (JMS), and CORBA for distributed application development
- Apache and Tomcat administration (performance tuning, high availability)
- Oracle 11g/12c experience (including OEM, DataGuard and RMAN)
- Familiarity with internet protocols (SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS, LDAP, SFTP/SSH, SSL, NFS, NTP, DNS/NIS)
- Shell scripting (sh/ksh/csh/bash), Perl, and PHP
