Job Description
We are seeking a Boat Pilot to operate a harbor tug boat and safely transport aggregate barges. The position will also have day-to-day supervisory responsibilities for deckhands and ensure the safe and efficient operation of the harbor vessel and crew.
Requirements
- Train all new and current crew members
- Enforce safety rules, company policies and procedures
- Maintain compliance with all laws and regulations related to operation of the vessel in inland waters
- Maintain vessel safety
- Maintain records and reports as required
- Work overtime and flexible work schedule
- Speak, read, and have a working knowledge of the English language
- Work outdoors in varying and/or extreme weather conditions
- Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time
- Grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, or pull, push, as well as, bend and lift
