The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of petrochemical industry standards, drafting practices, and 3D modeling software while working closely with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary design teams.
Requirements
- Develop detailed mechanical and piping design drawings for petrochemical and industrial facilities.
- Prepare and review equipment layouts, piping plans, isometrics, sections, and installation details.
- Generate 3D models utilizing design softwares: AutoCAD, CADWorx Plant Professional, CADWorx Equipment, Navisworks & CloudWorx.
- Coordinate mechanical designs with civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
- Perform field walk-downs to verify existing conditions and support brownfield modifications.
- Interpret and apply applicable codes, standards, and client specifications including ASME, API, ANSI, and OSHA requirements.
- Assist with equipment selection, piping material specifications, and constructability reviews.
- Support project estimating, scheduling, and material take-offs as required.
- Mentor junior designers and provide technical guidance to design team members.
- Ensure design deliverables are completed accurately, on schedule, and within project scope.
- Participate in client meetings, design reviews, and safety evaluations.
- Develop and maintain client relationships through effective communication, professionalism, and responsiveness, while identifying opportunities for future projects and additional engineering/design services.
