Backend Engineer

Wahed is a global fintech company on a mission to build a new financial system—one that is ethical, accessible, and entirely interest-free. We are looking for Backend Engineers to join our Engineering team to build, maintain, design, and implement new microservices and improve our existing Golang services.

Requirements

• At least 2 years commercial experience in backend software development
• Server side coding experience preferably in Golang and writing maintainable, testable code with unit tests
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases preferably ElasticSearch and Cassandra
• Comfortable working in a Linux environment
• Experience working with AWS features and tools
• Product minded: committed to building the best user experience with experience working closely with product managers and other engineers
• Understand the trade-offs in employing different engineering solutions to a problem, valuing pragmatism over idealism
• Eager and open to learning
