Job Description
Waymo is seeking a Staff Software Engineer / Technical Lead Manager to lead a team focused on building a high-resolution map of the world for autonomous driving. This role involves leading a team to scale mapping infrastructure, build ML models, and work with various data teams to enhance automation. The team works on Waymo’s fully autonomous ride-hail service and potentially other vehicle platforms.
Requirements
- 7 years of total experience, > 2 years experience as a manager
- Proven track record of leading a team to solve difficult technical challenges
- Willingness to own problems end-to-end
- Passion for good software engineering
- Experience with large-scale data processing using frameworks like Google Data Flow or Apache Beam
- Experience with Tensorflow and/or C++
- M.S. or Ph.D in Computer Science or a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience
