Crisis Therapist - 063015

The Crisis Therapist addresses crisis needs and calls, screening and assessing residents for precautionary status, and coordinates psychiatric evaluations. The role provides timely intervention services to prevent and de-escalate incidents, reduce cycles of violence, and support a safer environment within the facility.

Requirements

• Conduct on-the-spot assessments of youth in crisis
• Screen residents for suicide risk, self-harm, or precautionary status
• Complete debriefing forms and safety plans
• Assess crisis prevention services and provide recommendations
• Provide brief interventions and crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
• Document crisis interventions and assessments
• Coordinate with clinical therapists and participate in pod conflict discussion, peace circles, and debriefings
