Senior Backend Engineer

This role involves designing and building core platform services for B2B companies, architecting systems from first principles, and challenging requirements to ensure robust and scalable solutions.

Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional experience in software development, focusing on building scalable production systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent hands-on experience, with solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and networking.
• Proven capability to clearly communicate complex technical challenges, their solutions, and the impact of those solutions.
• Expertise in at least one backend programming language, demonstrating strong engineering judgment.
• Excellent system design skills, including the ability to evaluate trade-offs, anticipate failure modes, and ensure long-term maintainability under pressure.
• Practical experience using observability tools—such as logs, traces, and metrics—for troubleshooting complex problems in distributed systems.
• Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks (e.g., SOC 2, DPDPA) and their implementation implications in engineering.
• Hands-on experience working with event-driven architectures like Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ.
• Experience deploying and managing services at scale on cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Background in B2B SaaS or enterprise software, including multi-tenant architectures, external system integrations, and enterprise workflow management.
• Strong dedication to maintaining a comprehensive testing strategy, covering unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, as well as CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions.
• Experience working with financial systems, billing platforms, or fintech applications.
• Understanding of SaaS business models and pertinent regulatory compliance standards.
• Demonstrated success in designing and integrating APIs.
